When I was 11, I was a competitive gymnast and had my heart set on going to the Olympics one day, but an injury and knee surgery put an end to that dream.
I didn’t know where to go. And several years later, I tried basketball in the hopes of playing Division I ball in college down the road, but another injury led to more surgery and a year of recovery.
